I wish I was alive during the 50’s and 60’s. Singers back then were so amazing. You had to actually be able to sing! Now anyone can be a singer. All you need is a computer. Don’t get me wrong, I love music now. Even all the computerized stuff like Nickasaur and Lights. But people like Brenda Lee and Elvis were pure talent.

Even more than their voices, people don’t write songs the way they used to. Now EVERYTHING is about sex in one way or another. What happened to writing about how in love you are or how sad you are? You know, stuff people can actually relate to.

Listen to any song on here and you’ll see what I’m talking about. (I recommend “I Want to be Wanted”)

I wish I could sing like her.

We’re Back!!!

So we spent the last few weeks in California visiting our dad and our sister, Kim, so we didn’t have much computer time. It was fun but at the same time it sucked. Everyone was crabby most of the time. 😦

We went to see Wicked which was amazing! Vicki Noon played Elphaba in the one we saw and OMG! she was AMAZING!!! She’s one of the best singers I’ve heard in a long time. The story was really good. I think I like it better than The Wizard of Oz. It was sooooo funny. 🙂 And the guy that played Boq was pretty cute, that was just a bonus. 😉

We each got our own computers which is super awesome. So now I’m a Mac and Melissa is a PC. Now whenever I turn on my computer I think of Justin Long… 🙂

But yeah, we’re back. I’ll probably be spending most of my time on my computer so expect more of my stupid thoughts that no one really cares about. haha

Sad… December 9, 2009

So yesterday i found out that one of my friends passed away over the weekend. It hit me really hard. Tanner was a really great guy. He always knew what to say to make me laugh. I remember junior year when i had the biggest crush on him. I also remember around Christmas that year, he fell in love with my sugar cookies. I made him a bunch and gave them to him in a cute gift bag and he flipped. 🙂

We went with him and some other people from school to Paris, France. I had so much fun with him there. Like, more than half of my memories of France involve him. We were together there constantly. Crepes, smurf gummies, and strawberries will forever remind me of Tanner.

I miss that kid so much. I can’t believe he’s gone. It doesn’t feel real.

It kind of comes in waves. Really big ones, really close together. Once I start having fun, something reminds me of something that reminds me of him and I get sad all over again.

My thoughts definately go out to his family.

Me, Tanner, Melissa in Paris.

R.I.P Tanner. I love you.

So bored. December 1, 2009

So I’m sitting here in the corner next to my aunt’s computer but I’m on my laptop. I was in the living room but now LB is in there and I dont want to be near him right now. Melissa is sick so she’s just kind of laying there. I haven’t really eaten today so I’m hungry. Maybe that’s a good thing. i want to lose weight anyway, maybe this is my start.

We were going to go to the gym but when Melissa asked Aunt where it was she claimed that she didnt know. Which I think is a lie because I remember her saying that her and LB would go together. Maybe I’m mistaken but whatever. I hope we figure out where it is soon because I need to go.

The Summer Set is playing a show in 17 days. I think I’m going to go. I really want to. Dylan is their merch guy. He’s really cute. I like him a lot. We have talked a few times on Twitter. He’s really nice. He’s a vegan, I’m not…but we can work around that. hahaha. I also like John. He’s the guitar player. He’s the same age as me, that’s a big plus. 🙂 But yeah, I’m pretty excited.

Thanksgiving. November 27, 2009

Where to start with this joyous occasion??? Extreme sarcasm intended. So we were pretty excited about it until the day kept getting worse. There was a big argument the night before so we were already irritated with…lets call him… Lil Bastard (LB). No matter what we do, he refuses to listen to us. He kept getting all up in my space bubble. No matter how many times I told him to stop he wouldn’t. Then I had to yell at him and he got mad and went into his room. Eventually, our aunt noticed he was in there being loud, breaking his stuff (like it would hurt me or something) and brought him out to the living room. There was lots of yelling after that.

Then the next day, Melissa asked him to stop opening and closing his phone loudly. But he kept doing it. He got in trouble and got sent to his room. This happened twice and I’m sure it will happen again.

When we tell him to stop doing something he just keeps doing it so we’ll get mad, then he throws a fit and tries to get US in trouble. This is what happens all day, everyday. He acts like such a baby. Can you believe he’s 14 years old? He acts like a 6 year old. If we acted that way when we were 14 our parents would have sent us to bootcamp.

On a more happy note, the food was pretty good. 🙂 And it’s black friday and we’re going shopping! 🙂

From Texas to Arizona…

The drive from Texas was long but sort of eventful. Nothing really worth mentioning but we’re going to anyway.

Our older sister, Kim, came to help us drive. So did her husband, Jake. We took turns driving with each of them, keeping them company. It was really boring so you had to do some crazy stuff to keep yourself entertained. Melissa’s favorite thing to do was to stick her face against the window and hope that someone in a passing car would see. My favorite things were the billboards. People put up some pretty crazy things to get your attention.

We also found some pretty awesome stuff in a store called Saddleblankets. Kim kept calling it Saddlebags. haha. I think Melissa enjoyed it the most.

We finally made it here and we were relieved. But then we remembered….the demon child….
